Bessie is our 11 year-old Staffordshire Bull cross who is looking for her forever home!

Bessie is currently on the diet plan due to being spoilt with food prior to arriving at our centre, having supposedly being a stray before she crossed paths with the RSPCA. Although it’s very evident that she hasn't missed a meal while being without a home!

Due to being an older girl, Bessie has unfortunately gone deaf, but this doesn’t for any reason stop her having that cheeky personality! Bessie is a dog that loves affection almost as much as she loves her food, she will always appreciate a good scratch or a groom whenever it’s available to her, and if she isn’t getting the attention she wants may even give you the odd bark!

Bessie isn't intimidated by new surroundings and is always eager to go on walks to explore and take in new scents. She often enjoys having a roll around on her back when on walks and when in the fields!

Due to her clear love for treats and food, Bessie may need some help in regards to learning to be quiet at meal times! However, she does remain polite and never tries to take food or sneak it away.

Bessie currently seems to be eager to meet and interact with other dogs. However, her excitement can often be misunderstood as she will sometimes vocalise to express herself! Because of this, Bessie would benefit having her own space and to be the only dog in the home.

As Bessie is quite a laid-back dog in a home environment, she could be rehomed with children aged primary school and above, as long as they can recognize her age and are able to give her space if she was ever to want some peace. It’s also important that she goes to a home where her owner(s) will keep her active within her own capabilities so that she can continue to work towards a healthy weight.
